Chatsworth

Still very cold in the UK, looks bleak with the snow settled over the Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire. More snow on the way maybe

Spring in winter

It's a cracking day for photography. Here's a shot of a rose taken at a very fast shutter speed ISO100 manual mode with the Nikon D80. I'm sure automatic mode would have produced an image with the same depth but even so, it's criminal not to use manual settings in this perfect light.

I'm not certain where this would be ultilised but still pretty amazing

The Match

Big match tonight. Forest v Dirty Derby.

I think this image sums up the passion and desire that Forest have tonight to beat the arrogant scum, aka derby
and the pair. Man and wife

Hina doll

Got a rather nice present when I arrived back home, a Hina doll set. Apparently they come as a pair (they get lonely) rather nice aren't they?

and following on

Here's a nice bit of cow, again you cant really underestimate the importance of having the correct light

ne's Birthday

Food ey? more to the point photography of food. The thing I'm understanding finally about the Nikon D80 is that you have to prepare the shot well before actually attempting to photograph a subject such as Food. Here's some images from the Fuji Finepix S500, it's actually quite a dated camera really, pretty much a point and press but even so, nice results under the correct light.

I have tried with the Nikon D80 18-135 lens to no avail..yet.

Nikon D80

At last purchased a Nikon D80, here's one pic I took in focus!

Is this really a toad in the hole?

So, this took about 30mins to make. Followed the geezer Jamie Olivers advice...so, I'm blaming him.
Well, although it could be an advertisement for what not to eat..it tasted ok. It's been 7 days now and I'm still not ill. What you think?
